ARP Fastener‘s familiar spokesman Chris Raschke showed off the company’s latest fastener innovations for the next year. It’s not all fasteners either, as Raschke pointed to their new ring squaring tool. “We’ve been offering tapered ring compressor tools, so this is the next step to help with the engine assembly,” he said.
These are offered in six different combinations of sizes, with each of the hard anodized tools supporting a primary size on one end and a different size on the other end. The squaring tool is laser etched with the sizes and ARP company logo.
Engine builders that have a need to provide a tamper proof on their engines will be happy to know that ARP Fasteners now offers cross-drilled head bolts with wire seals. “It’s for engine builders to provide sealed engines or lease engine programs. They can attach their own seal and stamp with this kit,” Raschke explained.
Also new to the ARP Fastener lineup is blower bolt kits for front of the blower case and pulley. Raschke said, “In a car with a Roots blower, the supercharger is always the first thing you see on the engine. A lot of the older installations use Allen-head bolts that have rusted or come loose. In 30 minutes you can the make the front of the blower look real nice with this kit.” Not only do they look nice and add to the blower’s appearance, these bolts are filled with ARP’s typical quality.
Another couple of areas where ARP’s bolts have long been needed are at the beginning of the engine airflow path, with carburetor bolt kits and at the exit of the engine’s airflow path with header collector bolt kits. ARP’s header collector bolt kits add another level of fastener support to the ARP header studs and bolt lines. “These are designed so that heat and corrosion won’t kill them,” Raschke added. With the carburetor bolt kits, APR was aiming at fastening power with great looks. Raschke finished by saying, “It’s just a nice way to dress up your carburetors with float bowl bolts, then add the mounting studs and the air cleaner stud.”
