After focusing mostly on naturally aspirated offerings, BluePrint Engines showed off a supercharged 427 Stroker crate engine at the SEMA Show. Rated at 750 horsepower with 725 lb-ft of peak torque, the engine includes a Magnuson TVS2300 supercharger. Target audiences include street rods, trucks, kit cars, off-road vehicles, restoration projects and musclecars.
“The engine is based on a GM LS3 short block,” explains Dru Freeze, product manager at BluePrint. “It uses all forged components.”
The engine retails for $19,999 but also includes a 30-month/50,000-mile limited warranty.
“This engine is designed for street use, and the warranty covers defects in parts or workmanship,” adds Freese.
The all-aluminum engine is internally balanced and features a custom cam profile developed by BluePrint as well as a 58-tooth reluctor wheel. As with all BluePrint engines, it’s dyno tested to ensure performance and owners receive a copy of the test sheet.
The 427 Stroker currently uses GM heads, but BluePrint unveiled a new LS3 aluminum cylinder head designed in-house that comes as-cast or CNC machined. They will be available with 72cc or 77cc combustions chambers, and there’s also a choice between 259cc and 270cc intake runners. The new head will soon become part of BluePrint’s crate-engine lineup.
BluePrint also offers a Ford small-block head with 190cc intake runners and 60cc combustion. Valve sizes are 2.20/1.60. There’s also a Chevy big-block head with 358cc runners and 119cc combustion chamber. It comes with 2.30/1.88 valves. Both are cast from aluminum and designed and produced in-house at BluePrint. The heads are also fully assembled with heavy-duty components and come with a 12-month limited warranty.
