SEMA 2017: ARP Unveils Bob Florine’s 1957 2-Door Ford Ranch Wagon

ARP Fasteners [1] are involved in all kinds of vehicles, most of them with aggressive attitudes. Nothing says bad intentions like a station wagon with stack injection peeking through the hood. Bob Florine’s 1957 Ford Ranch Wagon, built by Pure Vision [2], has exactly that attitude, with ARP fasteners used throughout the build.

Florine asked us to keep the story to a minimum because he has a couple of feature articles coming soon, but he would allow us to cover the details of the car as presented in ARP’s SEMA unveiling invitation of “Thumper.”

Redline Gauge Works, Vintage Air, and Gabe's Custom Interiors are featured on the inside.

Featuring a Jon Kasse [7] Boss Nine, a modern approach to the famed Ford 429 engine, using a high nodular cast-iron cylinder block punched out to 521 cubic-inches for a massive amount of streetable horsepower. The team was keeping the power numbers secret for now, but we’re sure the details will leak out soon.

We saw the wagon in bare steel at the Grand National Roadster Show earlier this year.

The Borla induction system catches everyone’s attention with its great looks and mean attitude. We’re told that the body was massaged extensively and the car was pretty much hand-built by the Pure Vision crew. We saw the bare metal body at the Grand National Roadster Show [10] earlier this year, and completely surprised the team could do this much in the short timeframe before the SEMA Show.

There is no doubt that this is a world-class build with many awards coming its way. We are privileged to have seen the wagon in the early stages and the completed build. Stay tuned for a full car feature on this beauty coming soon.
