The Goodguys-Speedway Motors Homebuilt Heaven and Traditional Homebuilt Awards are among the most prestigious honors that can be bestowed on competitors at Goodguys events. To be named the award winner for the entire year is even more special. For 2011, the winner of the Goodguys-Speedway Motors Homebuilt Heaven Award is Mike Toberman of Anaheim, California and his beautiful 1955 Chevrolet. Lee Abrahams of Tucson, Arizona and his unique and flawless 1954 Kaiser Darrin Gasser won the Goodguys-Speedway Motors Traditional Homebuilt Award for 2011.

Mike Toberman's primo '55 Chevy can stop traffic and turn heads from any angle. Interior was completed by Armando's Custom Upholstery.

To qualify for the annual prize, the entry must first win the Homebuilt award at one of the many Goodguys individual events. Then, annual award winners are chosen by popular vote of the event winners over the past year. That is obviously a tough crowd to impress!

Toberman’s stunning orange and black ’55 Chevy won its qualifying event award at the 2011 Goodguys Del Mar Nationals. Its attention to detail both mechanically and aesthetically throughout the car made it a standout above the rest.

From the look of the Kaiser Darrin Gasser, chances are that it is a wild ride at the track. Old-school Gasser attitude captivates the onlooker.

In addition to the actual awards, both Toberman and Abrams each receive $500 Speedway Motors gift cards and personalized Speedway Motors jackets. Both cars are also featured in the 2012 Goodguys Yearbook.
