When building a custom show car or cruiser one of the main goals and recurring themes tends to be – “I built it to be different.” Merle Eschman set out to build something that would turn heads, but also be a bit different than the 33s that scatter the show fields today.

These center locking ZX3Ps feature Forgeline's unique Gloss Black Powder Coat and Diamond Cut option with exposed hardware to really give Merle's '33 a menacing look and stance.

Merle Eschman’s 1933 Ford Hot Rod dares to be different and with great results! Merle’s Factory Five ’33 stands apart from the rest with a bold move and stunning wheel combo. Merle chose a set of Forgeline ZX3P wheels (18-inch front and 20-inch rear) with a Center Lock Conversion kit. These center locking ZX3Ps feature Forgeline’s unique Gloss Black Powder Coat and Diamond Cut option with exposed hardware to really give Merle’s ’33 a menacing look and stance.

Forgeline wheels are a great choice for hod rods and street rods not only because they’re built from the finest materials available, but also their unique process and quality control already makes them a top choice in the race and high-performance worlds. Forgeline features made-to-order flexibility and in-house manufacturing capability which allows them to make every wheel model in a wide variety of diameters, widths, hub centers, bolt patterns, and offsets to fit virtually any application.

When Merle set out to put the finishing touches on his custom Factory Five build he knew that the wheel choice would be crucial in pulling off the look he was after. And with Forgeline having their own in-house finishing and powder coating operation the ability for the perfect custom finish helped make Merle’s choice that much easier.

As Forgeline’s own David Schardt explains, “You can finish the rim differently than the center and the inner differently than the outer. You can have three different colors on the wheels. Whatever finish you can possibly come up with, we can usually meet your wants and needs.”

As more and more hot rods and street rods discover Forgeline wheels, we really look forward to seeing some more creative combinations and rodders thinking outside of the box on their next build.
