1993 Talbo Series 1 Hot Rod Replica

[1]At the dawn of the automotive era, there were thousands of different automakers spread out across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Every country wanted to dominate the automotive industry, and from work benches and garages the world over came some of the most beautiful automobiles ever created. Cars so cool and so rare, you’ve probably never even heard of them. Cars like the Talbot-Lago Series 1, a car that came in 3rd place in the 1938 24 Hours of Le Mans and is widely considered one of the best-looking cars ever built.

Over at Hemmings Auto Blog [2], they came across a replica kit car of the ‘38 Talbot-Lago. Built by TLC Carrossiers, the 1993 Series 1 features the classic good looks of the original Talbot-Lago, but a modern engine and suspension to bring it up to date.

From the completely independent suspension to the laser-cut tube chassis to disc brakes front and rear, there is no doubt that these classic looks cover up something much more modern. Under the hood is a Ford 5.0 liter V8 from a Mustang, which means finding modifications for this motor will be easy-peesy.

The body is built from fiberglass, giving this replica car a very light weight. Sound deadening keeps road noise down, and the headlights raise automatically when turned on. From the stereo sound system to the leather interior, this modern hot rod was built for comfort and ultimate coolness. We really dig this ride, though the asking price of $139,900 is a little rich for our blood.
