For a few months now, we’ve been teasing National Collector Car Appreciation Day through our monthly SEMA Law & Order review, but now the time has finally come to celebrate. Tomorrow, July 13th marks the third year for the federally recognized holiday that aims to bring recognition and awareness to the importance of restoring and collecting cars. And as we found out from PR Web, several companies in the automotive industry are doing their part to commemorate the occasion.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association initiated National Collector Car Appreciation Day back in 2010 to bring awareness to the import role restoring and collecting classic vehicles plays in society.

Not only is the automotive hobby about enjoying your ride, it’s about preserving automotive history and to recognize this, countless automotive companies celebrate the day by holding cruises, car shows and get-togethers.

Among those companies is American Collectors Insurance, one of the leading providers of collector vehicle insurance in the country. The company has paired with Hemmings Motor News again this year to host a free collector car event at their headquarters in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, which will feature a “Corvette Corral,” a replica of the DeLorean from the Back to the Future movie series, and over 200 collector vehicles.

The American Collectors Insurance celebration will also play host to non-profit organizations The Road Home, an organization that helps veterans find training and jobs in the automotive industry, and Carz ‘N Toyz, which collects toys for children in the pediatric ward of Virtua Hospital of South Jersey.

American Collectors Insurance isn’t the only company planning to celebrate National Collector Car Appreciation Day, however.
