Taking in all the cars at the Woodward Dream Cruise can be a daunting task, but we’re only looking for one- a ’59 Cadillac convertible. While the car may have blended in during the weekend’s events, it ended up where no other cruise car did-in the hands of a thief. With the Dream Cruise festivities now over, we’re asking for your help in finding the prized classic. Thanks to Channel 7 WXYZ Action News for bringing us the latest on the case.

Ron Rodriguez, owner of the Cadillac, was taking part in the Dream Cruise festivities when his car broke down during the evening hours of August 19th. Rodriguez had the car towed back to his hotel, the Holiday Inn Express, where he put it away in the trailer he brought it out with from Pennsylvania. It wasn’t until Saturday morning that Rodriguez discovered that his car had been stolen.

Just like many car enthusiasts, Rodriguez had put his whole heart into restoring the car over the last twenty years. With so much work, love and money put into the classic ride, having the car taken without consideration would be hard to swallow. To promote the return of his car, Rodriguez is offering a $5,000 reward.

As owners of beloved cars ourselves, our hearts go out to Rodriguez. We hope that someone knows who stole the car or where it is and will come forward so Rodriguez and his Cadillac can be reunited. If you have any information about this case, please call the Wixom police at 248-624-6114.
