Visitors at the 42nd Annual NSRA Street Rod Nationals will get a chance to show off their engine building skills during the COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel. After proving to be a crowd favorite once again during the 2011 Hot Rod Power Tour, the COMP Cams Engine Builder Duel presented by Snap-On Tools will take place during the NSRA Street Rod Nationals on August 4-7 at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, KY.

The contest, which is making its Street Rod Nationals debut this year, pits two, two-person teams against each other to see who can completely assemble and run a Small Block Chevy engine in the shortest amount of time.

Armed with nothing but their own knowledge and tools provided by Snap-On, contestants are given the appropriate parts to complete the build. First place winners will each be awarded a $250 COMP Cams gift certificate while runner-up team members will each receive a $125 gift certificate.

There will be two builds per day (Aug. 4-6) during the event. The first duel will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST and the second at 2:00 p.m. EST. On the final day, Sunday, August 7th, the two teams with the fastest times from the previous days` builds will compete against each other in a final competition at 10:00 a.m. EST.

The winning team from this duel will walk away with a special award. Anyone who wants to take part in the duel can email enginebuilderduel@gmail.com with their name and their team member’s name.
