Think you’ve experienced every flavor of hot rod Ford? Well think again and check out “Unfvckwithable,” a ’27 Ford Roadster with Italian seasoning showcased by our friends over at StanceWorks. Built by Cotati Speed Shop for Nic Jiminez of eGarage, this rod walks a fine line between old school cool and theme build and hits the sweet spot.
First off, Zane Cullen and the Cotati guys built a custom ’32 frame with tubular cross members and married it to a Shadow Rods XL27 body that’s 3″ taller, 2″wider, and doors that are 4″ longer than stock. The result is better ingress/egress, more room inside, while preserving vintage Model A mojo.
Underneath, the hunkered down running gear features a Durant monoleaf front suspension, coil overs in the rear and Bilstein shocks at both ends. The brakes are provided by Wilwood with very cool finned Buick drums cleverly fitted over the front discs. All this rolls on gloss black steelies and Coker tires.
Power is provided by a Chevy 350 with 330 hp, a 700R4 automatic transmission and valve covers emblazoned with a very memorable moniker. Tipping the scales at just 1800 lbs., this is one quick little roadster.
Jiminez has a thing for Italian design and the gunmetal grey color scheme was selected after a review of Ferrari’s paint code database. The milk chocolate interior with aviation inspired details plays well off the subdued hues of the body. Are there subliminal undertones of WWII Jeep here as well? Either way, who knew all these flavors would add up to such a tasty hot rod brew?
