Beaches have been a popular destination for hot rods for decades. In some places, the beach was the only place to find long flat sections where they wouldn’t get hassled by the local law enforcement. Add in the surfer vibe, local cuisines and bars, you just couldn’t go wrong. Not much has changed. We may not throw up some sand as we race anymore but beach communities capture the essence of the hot rod. That is why the Goodguys Rod and Custom Mequiar’s Del Mar Nationals is always a super-hot show.
Set up to invade the Del Mar Fairgrounds in sunny southern California on April 10-12, 2015, the 15th Annual Del Mar Nationals should be on your bucket list. More than 2,500 hot rods, street rods, vintage and just plain awesome cars and trucks will bask in the sun next to each other. This event will have all of the great Goodguys show staples; AutoCross, Swapmeet, AutoTrader Classics Cars 4 Sale Corral, live music, all making it one of the best shows in the region.
In addition, the Del Mar Nationals will feature the Nitro Thunderfest Exhibition for old school front engine dragsters, a special indoor car show exhibit, a display just for one of the oldest California car clubs, the San Diego Prowlers as well as the Destination Del Mar 2-day Road Tour that will take the cars on a scenic cruise from Pleasanton, CA over to Del Mar.
