SEMA 2012: American Shifter Company Grabs Hold

Last year at SEMA the Hoffman Group and Amercian Shifter Company shocked the crowds with their “Osama Bin Hidin” shifter knob release. This year they brought out even more cool accessories to get your hot rod project moving for next season. Having fun is what it’s all about, and as you can see, the guys at American Shifter are extremely passionate about hot rods and cool custom cars – and they still have a sense of humor to boot.

The Hoffman Group booth had an impressive display including this laid out Chev.

We had a lot of requests for off-the-wall and one-off design ideas, so as a company of passionate care builders, we decided to add this as an option to make available for everyone.

Speaking with Ron Perkins at American Shifter he went over some of the new innovations for the coming year, including their new one-off line where your imagination is the only boundary. Just like each one of their series lines of shift knobs begins as a hand-carved, custom knob before it is resin cast for production, they have now opened the doors to designing your next custom one-off ship knob. Perkins said, “We had a lot of requests for off-the-wall and one-off design ideas, so as a company of passionate care builders, we decided to add this as an option to make available for everyone.”

This put our minds spinning to what cool and funky ideas we could come up with for our very own custom Rod Authority shift knob – but we digress. Personalizing and customizing your car to fit your tastes brings up a laundry list of mods that come to mind, but we all know the devil is in the details. The finishing touches on any project are what really make that vehicle stand out from the rest. Nothing is off limits to these guys as they have an awesome array of everything from clean and custom to the super zany and cartoon like shifters and accessories that we all know and love.

From cool custom brodie knobs, to the wildest shift knobs imaginable - American Shifter is your one-stop shop.

These guys don’t just offer the coolest shift knobs available, they also build shifting and other accessories. From adapters, brodie knobs, boots, and dip sticks, to push-button emergency brakes, line clamps, and shifter arms– they really do have it all. Don’t just take our word for it, head on over and check out American Shifter to see for yourself, and give them a “like” on their Facebook page for daily updates.
