While the rest of the Country is bundled up and dreaming of show season, Californians are living in style. Though the weather may drop to a brisk 50-something degrees mid-day, that’s not enough to deter more than 10,000 spectators from checking out the Whittier Area Classic Car Show.
Based in Whittier, California, a little city outside Los Angeles, the Whittier Area Classic Car Show is hitting its fourth annual event on February 28th. More than 350 cars are expected to line up next to each other for the crowds to see. Multiple big name sponsors have signed on again. Hagerty, Precision Metal Crafts and Good Vibrations Motorsports are just a few.
The schedule of events is stacked up, too. After the opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m., Deep Friend Bubblegum, a self-proclaimed southern country and blues band, will get the show going with smooth tunes. Next, the nitro front engine dragsters will be fired up to make sure the entire neighborhood is awake. The whole rest of the day is loaded with raffles, more bands and more dragster demos. Food trucks will be on site for curbing your appetite through the whole day.
Each show car will by vying for trophies such as Best of Show, Best Mopar, Best Flames and Best Daily Driver. Previous years had a Batmobile and a wide range of types of cars and trucks. Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, vintage imports, Henry Js and even Jeeps were in the mix. This is definitely a must see show if you are even remotely in the area.
