Gear Up! Tiki Oasis ’13 Surfing Towards The Shores This Weekend

The video above is from Tiki Oasis 2010 and provides a small glimpse into the event that has been providing car lovers with non-stop tiki inspired nostalgia for the last five years. You can check out the rest of the events past videos on their YouTube channel here.

2013-fb-coverThis weekend will mark the event’s fifth car show. It was originally held in Palm Springs at the Caliente Tropics. Oasis has since moved to its new home at San Diego, California’s Hanalei Hotel to accommodate a growing attendance which has steadily increased each year.

Tiki Oasis is a four day event starting Thursday, August 15th running until Sunday, August 18th. The event offers several ticket packages that cater to all preferences and schedules. You can find a complete breakdown of pricing and info ranging from a Deluxe Cocktail VIP Pass to a Sunday Evening Showcase One Day Pass.

There’s sure to be no shortage of beautiful retro cars, many with nods to the Pacific Islands, throughout the weekend. You’ll be able to peruse the grounds and snap shots with a Kona Lager or Mai Tai in-hand while enjoying the sounds of what the event planners are calling, “an exploration of Hawaiian influences on American music through Hulabilly, an American music style derived from the blending of Rockabilly and Haole Hawaiian music.”

The following is a schedule for the two-day car show during the event. Saturday, August 18th cars will be exhibited from the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the Crown Plaza. Sunday’s will be in the same location between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m..

Some of the cars that will be making an appearance at this year’s Tiki Oasis are the 1964 Pontiac Bonneville Safari Wagon Nudie Cohn Mobile, 1975 Cadillac El Dorado Nudie Cohn Mobile, a 1951 Ford Custom Sedan, the 1919 Von Zipper Red Baron Tribute Hot Rod, a 1941 Chevrolet C.O.E. Truck, and a 1950 Ford Custom Coupe.

This is definitely a large event in terms of multiple things going on at once, so for those of you who are big on planning an itinerary you’re in luck. You can download the complete schedule for the full event here. It’s a real easy itinerary to read and you’ll be plotting your stops in no time. Hurry though, the festivities start tomorrow so get your bags ready, get your camera, get your loose change for the tiki bar, and shoot on down to the fifth Tiki Oasis car show and music extravaganza!
