Picking up a bad ass hot rod is always a good time, but when its previous owner was a famous rock star and the car is equipped with TCI Engineering components, that’s one hell of a great find. For one lucky owner, they recently came across such a buy when Godsmack frontman Sully Erna put his TCI-Equipped 1934 Ford 3-window coupe up for sale. Not only is the car gorgeously finished, thanks to Counts Kustoms in Las Vegas, it also has all the makings of a fine driver and an even better collector’s piece. Thanks goes out to TCI Engineering for sharing the news on their Facebook page.
Sully Erna is no stranger to the car scene. A rock star by day, Erna has owned his fair share of rad rides, including hot rods and custom choppers. But to see one of the star’s artistically-done rides go up for sale is a fairly rare occurrence.
According to BigBolt101, Erna’s car has been for sale for some time, making news on the site for its eBay ad in May of 2012. But it wasn’t until recently that TCI Engineering reported that the car had finally sold. The final asking price… $60,000.
Now we know that hot rods, especially the famed Ford 3-window coupes can usually bring in a pretty penny, but at just $60,000, someone got one heck of a deal on this fantastic ride. Not only does the car feature a massaged and stroked Chevy 350ci small block engine, it also features a TCI Engineering suspension, built 700R4 transmission, and fiberglass body.
You’ll also find many modern features on the car, including power windows, air conditioning and a full JVC stereo system, which is backed by a full-car dyno mat. Adding even more to the appeal of the car is a custom Godsmack steering wheel and custom chrome skull shifter with red LED eyes.
Used only a handful of times and built personally for Erna, this one-of-a-kind hot rod was said to have been kept in a climate controlled warehouse during its short life in Erna’s collection.
Not a bad way to pick up an extremely unique hot rod in our opinion.
Congratulations goes out to TCI Engineering for being a part of such a fantastic build, and to the new owner for picking up such a nice ride. With an opening in Erna’s garage now, we can’t wait to see what custom vehicle choice he comes up with next.
