2015 marks the 32nd year for the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association. Hot rodding enthusiast Gary Meadors started the event promotion and production company in 1983 and has grown it into one of the largest in the automotive industry. Goodguys has more than 70,000 active members around the world with a wide range of American made hotrods, musclecars, classics and more. To celebrate their 32 years of excellence, Goodguys has chosen to give away a freshly built 1932 Ford.
The year of the car and the number of years Goodguys has been around isn’t just a happy coincidence. “We wanted to do something timeless and traditional,” said Ed Capen of Goodguys. “We’ve done some spectacular musclecars and trucks in the past few years, so we wanted to reach back into the roots of hot rodding and create a bitchin’ deuce roadster.”
Goodguys chose Mike Goldman Customs of Meridan, Mississippi to make the build happen. A Brookville Roadster body will be placed on a Total Cost Involved chassis. The front will utilize a 4-inch dropped axle and the rear will use a 4-link. To get the ’32 down the road, an Edelbrock Performer 310 Triple Duece crate engine will be dropped between the frame rails. The outside will be coated with PPG white with custom graphics.
The Goodguys ’32 will make its world debut at the Goodguys 18th PPG Nationals at the Ohio Expo Center on July 10-12, 2015. The car will travel around to various shows until the 2016 PPG Nationals where it will be given away. Club members, event participants and online entrants will all be eligible to win the hot rod.
