As the show season is heating up, enthusiasts in Reno and around the country are gearing up for what will be the best Hot August Nights event yet. While this annual event attracts thousands of enthusiasts and car owners, the 2013 event will be even more spectacular, according to SPEED [3], as the hot rod and custom car event welcomes Barrett-Jackson Auctions [4] and the inaugural Barrett-Jackson Cup award to the summer event’s offerings.

Since 1971, Barrett-Jackson has focused on bringing all kinds of car fans the very best collections of rare and specialty vehicles for sale at their nation-wide auctions. This year, Barrett-Jackson is expanding their auction tour, as the company presents its first ever Hot August Nights Auction.
Taking place during the famous Hot August Nights event, set to take place in Downtown Reno, Nevada August 7th through the 10th, the auction will bring collector car aficionados the chance to not only see some of the world’s coolest collector cars but also bid on some to take home from the event.
With Barrett-Jackson’s involvement in the event, the auction company will also be introducing its inaugural Barrett-Jackson Cup, an award that will be given to the overall Best of Show winner at the Reno Show-n-Shine.

From August 7th through the 9th, cars at the event will be judged, with 15 from each day being chosen as daily Best of Show winners. Each of these winners will receive a ribbon and be invited back to the Best of Show Finals on Saturday August 10th.
All forty five daily winners will then be put on display in the Silver Legacy Ballroom on Saturday before five are selected to move on to the final judging. The top five will take the stage at the Barrett-Jackson auction for final judging and officials will present each car with their final winning positions.
On Saturday night, the top five cars will move to Virginia Street in downtown Reno where they will be awarded fourth through first runner-up positions. The top car will receive the title of Ultimate Best of Show Winner and its owner will walk away with $20,000. Other top winners will be awarded monetary prizes as well, ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
