Discovery Bay’s legendary car builder John D’Agostino unveiled his latest project at the Rodeo Drive Concours car show on Father’s Day last Sunday. The famous car owner/designer kept his recent theme of naming his Coachbuilt Concept customs after the most famous movie stars, calling his latest creation “Rita” after legendary actress Rita Hayworth.
This 1958 Packard two-seater sportster is the culmination of work between John D’Agostino and Oz Welch from Oz Kustoms in Oroville, California. It is not the first time the two California builders have collaborated on a project. The Packard was chopped five inches and completely reshaped into a two-seat roadster. The mechanical work was preformed by A & A Auto in Brentwood.
According to the press release, the body and paint was performed by Oz Kustoms, with the interior and upholstery done by Bob Divine at Divine’s Custom Interiors. The chrome was done at Sherm’s Custom Plating in Sacramento, California, with D’Agostino’s signature tires and wheels from Coker Tires in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sound system was designed and installed by Pantell’s Music Box in Antioch, California.
