Mike you sure are one lucky SOB! “Lucky Mike” hails from Windsor, Colorado has managed to find the gold standard of all hot rods; a pristine 1932 Ford Pickup. This ’32 Ford is rust free and it honestly looks like it hasn’t been touched in decades. This pick up has literally spent it’s whole life sitting in barns waiting for someone to pluck her out and save her.
Mike’s 32 Ford is originally from North Carolina and was purchased brand new off the lot back in 1932 by a Dairy Farmer. The Dairy Farmer bought the truck to use it for deliveries of milk to his customers. Since the ’32 was used commercially, it had to be able to deliver high capacity loads which meant that some of the weight had to be kept on the running boards of the car.
Mike plans to keep this “extra feature” as he restores and hot rods the truck to his liking. The truck was kept in the family of the Dairy Farmer and was handed down through several generations until 2011 when it was sold to a different owner. The last owner didn’t have time to work on the truck so he sold it to our friend Lucky Mike, which is pretty much how he got his new nickname.
One of the most impressive things about this deuce is the condition for being 81 years old and never restored. The ’32 appears to have no rust and it’s original motor still runs, and even was driven a few times last year before the restoration began. The motor is the original inline four and is fairly decent shape despite being over eight decades old. Everything about this car is 100% original and it even still has the original lights, grille, emblems, dash and the original 1932 spoke wheels.
You can tell by looking at the car that it was well taken care of and the dairy family took great pride in owning this beautiful piece of machinery. Mike you are really living up to your nickname. It is amazing that you were able to find the gold standard of all American hot rods and in pristine condition too. Good luck to you and your nice new Ford, we can’t wait to see what you do with her! Stay tuned…
