Those of you who have a 1957 to 1964 Ford pickup, you have a new product for your truck from Heidts Automotive Group. Expanding their existing line of the industry-leading Superide II IFS system, they now cover Ford trucks from 1948 to 1964. From the Heidts website, the new Independent Front Suspension is based on the popular Mustang II-style dropped front spindle.
The Superide II is designed for a front mounted rack & pinion steering gear which uses steering geometry much like that used in the Mustang II. This design has worked very well on classic trucks, and now the early wide cab model Ford trucks are included in their lineup. Heidts also has Superide II IFS suspension applications for Chevrolet trucks spanning 1953-1959.
Like their other Superide kits, heavy-duty upper and lower control arms are adjustable for wheel alignment requirements. These heavy-duty threaded adjusters can handle any road bump you may encounter and will never lose adjustment. Bump steer is absent with low suspension and smooth steering, and front end dive is kept to a minimum with the geometry designed into the Superide II.
The one-piece cross member is big and strong, and designed to ease engine installation. Each kit comes with all the mounting hardware necessary and includes complete detailed instructions to ease installation into your truck, giving you the smooth ride you’ve come to expect from Heidts Superide II IFS suspension systems.
Heidts Sales Manager Mike Hawley says the Superide II IFS is now available for order for the ’57 to ’64 Ford trucks, and most orders can be expected to ship within 48 hours.
