Each NSRA event presents the opportunity for car owners and car builders to earn some highly coveted special awards. Among these awards is the NSRA’s award for The Outstanding Use Of Color, sponsored by PPG.

While the award is presented at each event, the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville holds elite status among many rodders as this is the NSRA’s largest show of the season. The Louisville Street Rod Nationals is where the key awards for Best New Products, Best Safety Product of the Year, and the Classic Instruments’ sponsored Pro’s Pick of the Year award is presented.
The exceptional vehicle winners of this year’s Outstanding Use Of Color at the Superbowl of NSRA events defined themselves as part of a choice group. Pastor Jim Rowlett, our inside man at the NSRA, confirmed that Ulysses Reynolds’ 1936 Willys Sedan, Wayne and Joann Hansen’s 1956 Chevrolet C1500 pickup, and Kurt Richter’s 1941 Willys Coupe took the honors.

The NSRA and PPG Automotive Refinish presented the popular Best Use of Color awards to these three spectacular customized cars at the 48th annual Street Rod Nationals, held August 3-6, 2017 in Louisville at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
