Murray Pfaff is an automotive designer that is putting Chip Foose in danger of becoming a has-been. Well, we might be stretching things there a bit, but Murray’s business, Pfaff Designs [2], is responsible for cranking out a lot of the renderings you’ve seen in print for years now. He’s the guy behind the famous “Frankencuda” and is also one of the design and style judges at the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
[3]The Imperial Speedster that you see here was debuted lat the 59th Annual Detroit Autorama and received incredible reviews. It started life as a 4-door 1959 Chrysler Imperial, but in Murray’s mind there was a little speedster inside just waiting to get out.
It rides on a Schwartz Extreme Performance chassis more commonly found in a Pro-Touring Camaro, and under the hood lives a modern-day HEMI.
According to Murray though, this car was far from a solo effort as he was recently quoted by Streetrodding.com [4] saying, “I am fortunate to have many friends and volunteers who contribute their expertise, their willingness to venture into uncharted territories, and who have sacrificed their nights and weekends over the past three and a half years. Together we have created a car that none of us alone could have ever built. I thank them for their knowledge, passion, conviction, and hard work.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
