If you have ever had the opportunity to attend the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale Arizona, then you know that the vent really is more than just an auction. During this week-long spectacle, you’ll find not only the perfect car for sale, but more automotive memorabilia than you can comprehend, and sponsored events by many aftermarket and automotive manufacturers. RideTech understands this, and is making sure to bring something cool to the 2017 event.

RideTech has been manufacturing and installing premium suspension components for many years, and this year they have teamed with the Barrett-Jackson auction to show enthusiasts just what they’re capable of doing. To showcase their products, they have come up with an idea they are calling the 48-Hour Build.

Everyone like to see things being built, and RideTech will outfit a 1968 GMC C10 with a few upgrades while it is parked at the auction. They will transform a simple-looking pickup into a fully-upgraded version, and then send it across the auction block the final day of the auction. “Since we have been demonstrating the concept of building a fun and reliable hot rod in 48 hours since 2011, we wanted to expose this success to an even larger audience,” commented RideTech’s president Bret Voelkel. “We thought there was no better place to do it than at the largest automotive lifestyle event in the world, Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale.”

The guys at Ridetech will be starting with a beautifully-restored truck that represents the hobby very well. To begin the process, the stock wheels and tires will be removed so the hauler can first be upgraded with a set of Forgeline wheels that are surrounded by BFG tires. The new Ridetech StreetGrip suspension will be augmented by a set of Baer Brakes and a Currie Crate Rearend.

Cruising comfort is paramount, so the truck will receive a new TMI interior, and the passengers will be kept cool via Vintage Air. Finally, Classic Instruments gauges will upgrade the engine monitoring, and a Kicker Stereo will make the cruising tunes abundantly clear.

Under the hood, the small-block will have its performance enhanced with the help of a FiTech electronic fuel injection kit, and C&R Racing will insure the engine retains its cool.

The RideTech 48-Hour Build will be showcased as part of the new Barrett-Jackson Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Pavilion. This event within an event will highlight select automotive companies as they present hands-on demonstrations and exhibitions on a variety of projects, all being conducted in real time.

This planned “happening” will take place in front of thousands of auction attendees, so anything can happen. When the project is completed, the Pro-Touring-style truck will then be auctioned to the highest bidder on Sunday, January 22, at the 2017 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction.

So, if you’re looking for a completed, top-of-the-line classic hauler, this might just be the truck for you. All you need to do is attend the auction on Sunday, be the highest bidder, and it can be yours.
