Every now and again we catch ourselves groaning, “Kids these days.” While that might make us sound like a bunch of old crusty curmudgeons, we’re reassured once and a while when we run across young men and women in the hobby like Andrew McBride. Young Mr. McBride and his wife are expecting their first child – a boy – at the end of this month and felt inspired to showcase the nursery over on Pro-Touring.com that they have designed for the newest member of the McBride clan.

Andrew wrote, “My wife and I are expecting our first on the 26th of this month. I have been wanting to do a car room for him, but my architect/designer wife stated that he couldn’t have a car themed room, but that I could only add a few pictures. Well, I think it’s a car room now! I have been bringing some stuff from the garage and found a few things at Hobby Lobby (an arts and crafts store).”

Andrew McBride even went over to photograph his friend's '55 and father's project pickup trucks.

Besides some tasteful choices in furniture, Andrew is also a pretty talented shutterbug. “The pictures are of my friend’s ’55 convertible and my father’s ’47-’54 Chevy project trucks that we took this past weekend,” Andrew continued. “I also built the shelves in the closet a few weeks ago. I think we are as ready as we can be!”

He concluded with, “Hope he likes cars!” Well, we’re not child psychiatrists, but we’re pretty sure he’ll pick up everything he’ll need to develop his own love for classic hot rods in no time, dad. Good job!

Old plates, road signs and memorabilia fill out the theme.
