There is an ongoing debate in America right now about the role of electric vehicles. Some people like them, other people hate them, but wherever you stand, the auto industry is forging full-speed ahead with electric vehicles. Right now the focus on is compact, city cars, but there may come a day in the not-to-distant-future where cars and trucks large and small are powered purely by electricity.
What these cars will look like is anybody’s guess. But this student-designed, all-electric 2025 Lincoln Continental could go a long way towards making electric cars a lot more appealing.
As we all are sadly aware, Ford discontinued Lincoln Continental production over a decade ago, and the last Lincoln Town Car was built in September. Now we’ve got a bunch of meaningless letters in place of names, but it is not too far out to suggest that one day Lincoln may revive the continental name…and why not as an electric vehicle?

This isn't the came kind of Lincoln Continental that your father or grandfather might remember...although there are similarities.
The design was sketched by Lawrence Tech University students Colin Bonathan and Jeeho Cha, who envision a sporty four-door sedan with a glass roof, muscular fender flares, and an all-electric powertrain. The design even caught the eye of Ford executives, who commissioned a quarter-scale model to put on display at the Detroit Auto Show. That doesn’t mean Ford plans on building an all-electric Lincoln sedan anytime soon, though they are set to launch the Ford Focus Electric in a limited rollout this year.
If Ford built it, would this electric Lincoln Continental change your mind about electric cars?
