Having been a veteran for this country in the 101st Airborne division and coming home to live a life of freedom that he helped preserve, you would think that there would be reason to enjoy the fruits of a life well lived. But instead, a veteran in Tulsa Oklahoma is coming to the reality that there are still those people among us who don’t live by the same standards.
On Monday, April 2nd, someone posted an ad on Craigslist, letting the world know to be on the lookout for a black 1962 Corvette that was stolen from his father’s storage facility. There isn’t much information contained within the ad, save for a photo of the car and a description of the contents besides the car that was stolen. Sadly, some of the other contents that were stolen were his father’s medals as well as his grandfather’s Silver Star from World War II. Earned in the heat of life-threatening battle, the medals were likely taken to pawn off at the earliest convenience. The car, will likely draw more attention out in the open.
The unidentified ad poster asks that everyone keep an eye out for this car and hope that somehow, they may get back both the medals and the car, as both are very special to the family. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the poster via Craigslist. There is a reward for the return of these items and here is the ad that was posted on Craigslist.
STOLEN: 1962 Corvette *REWARD* (Tulsa)
Someone stole my dad’s 1962 Corvette out of our storage facility (Keyport Self-Storage 10 W. 71st Street, Tulsa), while he’s been on vacation. My father is a Vietnam Veteran, 101st Airborne, combat veteran and received this Corvette upon his return from service. They stole his medals as well as his father’s Silver Star from World War II. These items are sacred to our family. We would like this car returned. Please share, and contact me if you’ve seen this car or have information of its whereabouts.
