With the start of winter upon us, we are all nostalgic for the days of yore, a much simpler time with simple pleasures. YouTube user, JeffMc2006, uploaded a classic video of his father, his uncle, and some of their friends having fun in their youth.
This video has a little bit of everything from cruising to stunts to drag racing, but it has tons of donuts. These young men loved to have fun with the toys of their youth. Before the days of GoPro’s and vehicle mounts, people used actual reels of film in their “movie” cameras thus making the recording of automotive hijinks a two-person operation.
The first sequence takes place at Buford’s Crossing and Hammond’s Crossing; the driver demonstrates his skills behind the wheel with a series of donuts and other maneuvers. Fortunately, no one seems bothered by the display of skill and the local police never make an appearance. As the video progresses, yet another car and driver take center stage on a snow covered road.
The picturesque setting conjures up memories for the older generation, and for the younger generation it may bring up memories of iconic car movies. Snow blanketed the streets of Dawsonville Georgia and these guys took advantage of the conditions to have a little bit of fun. Practicing the maneuvers used by getaway drivers, shine runners, and racers alike, the guys made the most of the white stuff with their rides. Toward the end of video viewers are treated to some vintage sportsman drag racing.
