The 1930’s were a turbulent time in America, as our country struggled with the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and the ominous rise of tyranny across the globe. But one of the high points of this depressing decade were the cars, which inspired a whole generation of hot rodders and designers. Even today, many automobiles made between 1930 and 1939 remain influential on today’s designers, and the cars themselves are timeless classics, a reminder of days long post, when owning a car was something special.

This video, found by Ridelust, showcases Regal Roadsters’ ’39 Lincoln Zephyr, powered by a massive V12 engine. The music, the look, and the feel of the car just ooze ‘30’s charm. Kind of makes you want to run out and buy the next old Lincoln you come across, don’t it?

Regal Roadsters has made a name for themselves by building award-winning replicas of the classic Ford Thunderbird. Aside from the slammed look, courtesy of a full airbag suspension, this perfectly restored Zephyr looks like it drove right out of 1939, albeit with a much more modern engine. Rather than the ol’ Flathead V8 found in many 30’s Fords, this Zephyr packs an Aston Martin V12 engine, good for at least 450 horsepower and 400 ft-lbs of torque.

And boy oh boy, does it sound mean. When the driver hits the start button on his smart phone, this Zephyr just roars to life, and we really love the theme of classic beauty paired with modern technology and conveniences. The music is pretty catchy too, and really brings the whole video together. Four minutes well spent if you ask us.
