There’s no doubting how dangerous any form of auto racing is today, the speeds that drivers reach in their modern machines are incredible. But if you truly want to see heroic driving take a look back 50-70 years ago when racing was arguably the most dangerous sport in existence.
We just had the above video forwarded to us that showcases just how dangerous things really were. We’d like to be able to say that all the drivers walked away from these nasty wrecks, but you’ll see how the likelihood of that being true is very slim.
