Meet our September Babe of the Month, Miss Roxi Rocket!
She’s new to the scene since moving to L.A. in 2013. That hasn’t stopped her from taking the pinup world by storm! I first worked with Roxi in 2016 at my buddy Al’s garage in Rancho Cucamonga.
Her energy and bubbly personality shine brightly in the photos. She’s an all-around American girl with a love for old cars, antiques, and classic movies.
With no further ado, let’s get to know Miss Rocket!
Any family into classic cars?
Not just cars, but everything vintage. I spent many weekends antiquing as a kid, and I still do.
What was you first pinup shoot?
I had done some modeling back in Chicago, but not Pinup particularly, but I loved the style. When I came to L.A. I organized a photo shoot with some girls and a photographer, and I did makeup for B Cook Media. I directed styling and makeup and we shot a bunch of classic pinup looks. It was so much fun I had to keep going and going and well, here I am!
Most recent pinup shoot?
I shot with some gorgeous classic cars at the Ventura Nationals.
Hobbies?
Antiquing, making monsters, and I’m a huge comic book nerd.
Favorite classic movie
Growing up, Gone with the Wind was my favorite movie. I watched it over and over, and even got to see it in theaters with my grandmother.
Favorite classic TV show
The Twilight Zone. My favorite episode is “Eye of the Beholder”
Favorite new movie
The Dark Knight Rises. After that the list would be nothing but horror.
Favorite book or novel
Macbeth. I love Shakespeare.
Last vacation destination
It’s not far, but it is far enough to feel like a vacation: Palm Springs. I love all the retro vibes, the vintage style, and of course
Tonga Hut.
Favorite Bar
TIKI! I loved Don’s, but now my favorite is UnderTow in Phoenix, Arizona. The drinks were an intricate mix of classic and new. The bartenders were knowledgeable and skilled in their craft. The whole bar is set up to be inside a ship, and they created every last detail. I wish it was closer so I could go every Tiki Tuesday!
Favorite drink
The Dr No at Frankie’s Tiki Room in Vegas.
Where have you been published?
Pinup Worship, Delicius Dolls, Pinup Kulture, Team Pinup, Beach Beauties Magazine, and Top Hat Dolls.
Most recent pinup contest
Bombs Super Show in August.
Any upcoming pinup contests planned? None planned. I am excited to attend shows and cheer on my other Pinup gals. Pinup is such a supportive community, and being on that stage can be nerve-wrecking! It makes all the difference to have a supportive audience in front of you.
Favorite holiday? Halloween! I love going and supporting all the backyard haunts and screaming my way through. Of course I’ll have fun at the big ones too! And I am trying so hard to wait til October 1st to hang up all my vintage style Halloween cutouts, but I might not make it!
Be sure to check out Miss Roxi Rocket in my new 2019 Calendar releasing this Friday online at
www.mitziandco.com. She is featured as Miss October (her favorite time of year) with Gary Castillo’s 1954 Chevy Pickup we shot over at the old Van Buren Drive In.
