SEMA 2012: Holley Kicks Off Hooker Header/LS Swap Expansion

Holley carburetors is well-known for its industry leading carburetor and fuel delivery systems. If you weren’t aware though, Holley has also been building its brand to include everything LS-related; making Holley a one-stop LS shop. With the popularity of the LS engines gaining momentum, Holley saw the need for simple bolt-in kits to make the LS-swap experience a breeze. We got a chance to cruise on over to the Holley booth this year at SEMA and were overwhelmed by the amount of LS-outfitted parts and components available.

Most notably are Holley’s line of Hooker headers for the second-gen Camaro and also the popular Nissan 240, which has become the staple of car to use in drifting becuase of its lightweight and rear drive platform. Either way, we got a hold of Shane Weckerly for a quick tour of the latest in LS products from the Holley camp.

Since headers are always the first obstacle when it comes to engine swaps, Holley made sure to tackle that head on. Using the Hooker name to headline the new line, headers for Second-gen Camaros with LS swaps are now available with three different versions to choose from. Hooker is now producing mild-steel mid and full length headers, stainless steel full length headers and also a retro, cast iron exhaust manifold. However, only the mild-steel mid and full length headers are offered in the ultra-cool Darksides black ceramic coating.

Not stopping there, Hooker is also announcing an all new line of LS swap components to make stuffing an LS engine in-between the frame rails of any second-gen Camaro that much easier. These include engine mount brackets and 700R4/4L60/4L65 automatic and T56 Magnum manual transmission crossmembers. Engine mounts are fully compatible with Holley LS swap oil pan and accessory drive brackets.

For those seeking bolt-in crossmembers to support a late-model style automatic or T56, Hooker is also making CAD/FEA-designed units to aid in the swap process. These high strength low allow steel constriction pieces provide the correctly engineered engine/transmission inclination angles that are critical to obtaining suitable U-joint working angles when paired with Hooker LS swap  brackets.
