SEMA 2014: Davies Craig New EWP Fan And Digital Controllers

Davies Craig brought several new products out to show off at this year’s SEMA show. The company provides cooling system solutions for vehicles, and their systems are compatible with a wide range of applications.

Digital Fan Controller

The next evolution of Davies Craig’s Electronic Fan controller, this new digital controller is easily programmed. “Our new Digital Fan controller allows you to easily set the temperature without having to adjust a potentieometer. It really takes the guess work out of setting up the temperature control for your fans,” says Davies Craig’s Josh Backes. This controller can operate two fans and has the following features:

  • 104-220 F operating range.
  • First fan on at temp
  • Second fan 10 seconds later
  • Direct wire for applications with AC
  • Two 40 amp relays with in-line fuses
  • Retail $80.

EWP and Fan Digital Controller

We’re big fans of the original Davies Craig EWP and Fan Digital Controller, but the company has just introduced the next evolution of that product that potentially makes the use of their EWP and fan systems even easier.

This unit features a new liquid crystal display with live temperature display. “It still pulse-width modulates the pump, 10 seconds on 30 seconds off,” says Backes. This keeps the speed of the pump down. The intervals speed up as the coolant approaches the set temperature until it’s running full on. Three degrees above the set temperature, the controller also triggers the fans.

This controller also runs the the fans and pump after the vehicle is shut off until the temperature reaches 10 degrees below target, eliminating heat soak.

“This controller also runs the the fans and pump after the vehicle is shut off until the temperature reaches 10 degrees below target, eliminating heat soak.” This is a great innovation for racers, or even street enthusiasts who want to keep their temperatures low, and have concerns about heat soak. Audible low voltage warnings help alert owners to issues, and the unit looks nice enough to be mounted in the vehicle interior where it can be easily accessed and used to monitor the system’s operation.

The EWP and Fan Digital Controller is compatible with all Davies Craig EWP offerings, as well as any aftermarket pump that draws less than 10 amps maximum current.

EWP 130

Davies Craig also introduced a new innovation at this year’s EMA show, their new EWP 130, “It’s the same size as our EWP 80, but in an aluminum housing, with clockable fittings on it.” This small pump is good for 35 GPM, and even won a SEMA Global Marketing Award at this year’s show.

The next time you’re thinking about upgrading, or updating your cooling system, check out the revolutionary products from Davies Craig.
