The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) announced its Best New Products Award winners on the opening morning of the 2019 SEMA Trade Show. The crew at Dakota Digital added another award to their trophy case with the Best New Product in the Street Rod/Custom Car product class.
The award is significant because the award committee chooses from 3,000 products entered to claim the best of in 16 different categories. The winners of the “Best New Product” award are deemed the most innovative and cutting-edge automotive aftermarket products for the upcoming year. Most manufacturers debut their new products at this show.
The RTX-32F-X 1932 Ford System
Dakota Digital’s winning entry hits right to the bullseye of classic car enthusiasts. The 1932 Ford Retrotech Instrument system combines the popular Dakota Digital Retrotech series with one of the most popular hot rods of all time, the 1932 Ford.
According to company spokesman Greg Karpe, “Our main focus was to make a system that was as close to the factory-original as possible but still has all the modern bells and whistles.” This is the cornerstone of the RTX series, which Karpe confirmed. “It has all the high-tech stuff that everyone likes, but it looks like Ford put it there.”
The RTX-32F-X 1932 Ford system includes analog speedometer, and fuel level gauges. Digital bar graph gauges for the tachometer, oil pressure and water temperature with a voltmeter shown in the digital message center.

The digital message center also has options for odometer, trip meter, clock, estimated range, 0-60 MPH Timer, High-Speed Recall, and High RPM Recall.
Additionally, there are several other indicators that can be displayed on the instrument panel: Turn signals, High Beam, Check Engine, Parking Brake, Cruise Control and even a 4×4 indicator if the vehicle is equipped, and Gear Position indicator option.
Like every instrument system in the RTX series, there are user-selectable options to allow color choices for the instrument needles, sweep color, and digital TFT display color. Over 30 programmed color options to choose from. The color schemes offered are one of the RTX series most praised features by users.
All the necessary sensors are included for oil pressure, water temperature (including LS and GM applications), and speedometer pulse generator.
