Not to upset the bowtie crowd too much around the holidays, but it would be nice for Santa to drop off Ford crate engine to someone building a Bel Air. We know the Tri-Five Chevrolets are somewhat sacred to a certain group, but how many times have we seen a Ford outfitted with GM engine?
We know this is controversial, but it might be awesome to up the ante on the ultimate Darth Vader swap. If Santa wanted to help this mad scientist out, or just push a few more buttons, why not drop off mod motor?
The first versions of the 4.6 SOHC engines were terrible; they lacked power and that whole coolant shower thing was overcome as the years passed. Now, people do not hang their heads in shame when someone inquires about what is under the hood.
Think about it, a crate engine from Ford Performance would make for a great starting point that might be truly awesome, or cause others to hide their children as they seek a place of worship. It may go against grain, but then again, look at the start of Rat Rods and hot rodding in general. Mixing and matching is a huge part of the hobby.
Power and reliability would make this a truly amazing project that would cause more than a few people to scratch their heads. Not to mention, the aftermarket support for these engines, nitrous systems, superchargers, or turbos, are widely available for these mod motors. Perhaps this wish will land us on the naughty list, if Santa is Chevrolet purist.
