With each customs differing and having their own identity, we discovered a unique rod that we simply could not just glance over. Posted on Craigslist, a Glendale, California resident posted their 1927 Ford Model T 5-window coupe that has all the influence of a pure custom rod.
The owner looks to have chosen to keep the rod patina’d out, even keeping the chassis, frame, and various components rusted. This rod may not be glistening and grabbing attention from bystanders, but we like what we see here and can envision even more potential with this 88 year old automobile.
According to the posting, the Ford has a 327 cubic-inch 5.4 liter V8 Corvette engine, which should provide plenty of power for this rod. The Corvette engine is mated with a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission and a Ford rear end with coil rear suspension traction bars.
Moreover, the Ford has a full disc brake kit, dropped axles, and a fuel cell to complement Ford even more. Inside the Ford, there is a Corsair steering box with a removable steering wheel to keep the old school rod less prone to theft.
To top it off, there’s even a roll cage should you find a way to make this slammed rod tumble over. With so much invested into this project, we feel there is still more that can be done to this custom.
The skull in placed in front of the grille and the vintage red and chrome wheels add a nice touch to the overall presentation of the Ford. With an asking price of $13,000, do you think you can barter for a better deal from this Model T’s owner?
