The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is one of the most prestigious car shows, and charitable events, in the world. Held each year as the finale of the Monterey Car Week in August of each year, the one-of-a-kind event is open to prewar and postwar collector cars.
Cars entered in the event are judged for authenticity, function, history, and style. Classes are commonly arranged by type, manufacturer, coachbuilder, country of origin, and time period.
In addition to the typical first, second, and third place podium finishers in each class, the show also awards a “Best of Show” title from the group of first place winners. Cars, owners, car manufacturers and parts manufacturers fight to be on the podium when the judging ends and the awards are announced.
Coker Tire is routinely represented well during the event and this year was no different with half of the field of 205 entries equipped with period-correct Coker Tires, including 77 out of 110 cars in the pre-war classes, 15 First in Class winners out of the 26 classes, seven Special Awards winners, and the Best in Show winner 1936 Lancia Astura Pininfarina Cabriolet.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled that an overwhelming number of cars on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance are equipped with Coker Tires,” said Wade Kawasaki, President and COO of Coker Tire. “To show at Pebble Beach is a great honor and the fact that the collector car owners that pay attention to every single detail chose to equip their world-class cars with Coker Tires speaks volumes.”
