Organizers of the National Street Rod Association’s Kentucky event are estimating as many as 11,000 vintage cars will show up for the Street Rod Nationals in Louisville this weekend. This event dates back to 1969, a time when the hot rod scene was beginning to make a return to the mainstream culture.
The event will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center, which is located adjacent to the Louisville International Airport, making the venue a quick stop for air travelers. More will be traveling by car as the NSRA road warriors will be commuting from destinations as far away as both coasts and everywhere in between.
As with the other NSRA Street Rod National Events, the show will feature a Builder’s Showcase, a vintage auto parts swap meet, indoor trade show, arts and crafts fair, entertainment, and free seminars from the pros. These do-it-yourself seminars have been one of the most anticipated activities during the season. Covering everything from the basics of performance handling to planning your wiring project, almost every hot rod topic will be covered.
Chip Foose and Mark Oja are among the many celebrities that will be making special appearances at the show. The show hours range from 8am-5pm on Thursday, August 3, 2017, to 8am-7pm on Friday and Saturday. Then Sunday the final day of the event will run from 8am-3pm on August 6, 2017.
Tickets at the gate are $15 for anyone 13 years and older, $6 for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free.
Special tip: $2 Discounted tickets are available with a Kroger Plus card, Military ID, Seniors aged 60 and older, and current NSRA members. Advance tickets can be purchased at the local area O’Reilly Auto Parts Stores that save $2 on adult tickets.
The Chevy Hardcore and Rod Authority crew will be at the show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hope to see you there.
