The 25th anniversary Spring Daytona Turkey Run was held the last weekend of March. Taking place at the iconic Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500, the Turkey run has been going strong for over two decades and any show that has that many years under its belt is doing something right.
As one of the highlights of the event, the Turkey Run coordinators present one car and owner with The People’s Choice Award, an award that is granted based on the votes of car enthusiasts attending the show. According to a release from McLeod Racing, “The McLeod Flathead Coupe is a ’29 Ford Model A with a ’53 Mercury Flathead mated to a T-5 from a ’93 Ford Mustang. A McLeod Street Pro Clutch Kit, Steel Flywheel, Hydraulic Throw Out Bearing, and Slik Stik Shifter get the power to the ground in a very street friendly way.”
Brian Lee, the coupe’s owner and builder said, “It was an awesome feeling to receive an award that is voted on by my peers and other car enthusiasts. I never had any intention, when I was designing and building this car, for it to be a show car. It was built from the ground up to be a driver and to be driven HARD! That’s why I chose to use McLeod products because of their high quality. It’s incredible to get this award at such a prestigious show as Daytona.”
Congratulations to Brian Lee and his award winning ’29 coupe. For more information on McLeod Racing and their product line be sure to check out their homepage.
