As Hot Rodders, we live for our heritage. Rebuilding automotive masterpieces into creations of our own. Some builders go complete resto back to original, some go full tilt kustom and others dance the line, but every part of the build ties back to simpler times. Oliver Jordan, of Enid, Oklahoma had a love for the craft and the iron. He started off a businessman and purchased an existing automotive salvage yard in 1945. Later, his plans changed.

Jordan bought and sold automotive parts for years from his property. The City of Enid came to him and told him he needed to change his business for zoning purposes. Not appreciating the City’s request/demands, Oliver Jordan refused to be incorporated and shut the doors to his company. The yard turned into Jordan’s private collection. He continued to purchase cars and parts, eventually expanding the collection to well over 200 vehicles.
Time wore on; family joined in to help organize and protect the cherished treasures. Incredibly rare cars were among the weeds in various states of disarray. Jordan’s personal 1937 supercharged 812 Cord, a 1937 Vintage Ford Race Car, a 1917 Maxwell are just a few of the many cars on the list. There is even a 1937 Aluminum Lincoln 7-passenger sedan that is believe to be a Willoughby body. Some vehicles were stored under new shelters and everything was inventoried.
Sadly, Oliver Jordan passed away in 2004. His collection went up for sale, bringing in a few big-name people but no buyer followed through. Ruby Jordan, Oliver’s wife, held on to the collection. Mrs. Jordan has now passed and the family is opening up the incredible treasure trove to the public on June 7th, 2014.
