Our pals over at Speedhunters get all of the great gigs. Recently they attended The Goodwood Revival, which is a three-day festival held each September for the types of cars and motorcycles that would have competed from 1948-1966 during glory days of the Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit the UK.
It’s a completely period correct event as the cars and many of the people all dress the part to recreate the era! The festival includes race cars from the Fifties and Sixties, and many famous names have come back to drive them for the festival including Sir Stirling Moss, Bobby Rahal, and the late Peter Brock.
The Revival is far more than a series of races for historic cars, and those that put on the event like to call it a magical step back in time that is a chance for visitors to revel in the romance and theater of motor racing as it used to be.
The circuit has been restored just a it was in it’s heyday, and thus the experience for the crowd and the cars is just as it used to be! In addition, vintage WWII era fighter planes attend the event as well, including the ever popular P-51 Mustang!
