Goodguys Rod and Custom Association is proud to announce that they have selected Keith Hill’s 1933 Ford 3-window Coupe as the 2015 Tank’s Hot Rod of the Year. The award was given to its new owner at the Goodguys 2nd Annual Indy Nationals on June 5-7, 2015.
The Goodguys judges always have an incredible field of vehicles to choose from for the Hotrod of the Year award. Hill’s Ford, named “Federale Coupe”, was built by Pinkee’s Rod Shop of Windsor, Colorado and is so well done, the judges just had to select it. Add this to Pinkee’s ever growing list of top awards including the Ridler Award and Goodguys Trendsetter of the Year.
The ’33 Ford was built on inspiration by the vintage coupes by Jim Ewing, Tom Prufer and Jim Jacobs. Their classy style and well received acclaim make them beautiful sources to draw from. The Federale Coupe has a huge list of modifications. The top was chopped four inches and the windshield was raked back to change the look of the top altogether. A 1937 Ford truck grille assembly was grafted onto the nose to really set this car away from any typical 30’s Coupe.
Under the hood, a Stromberg inducted 354 cubic-inch Chrysler Hemi keeps the car moving down the road. A Tremec 5-speed transmission sends power down to a Winter’s Quick Change rear end. Every detail of Hill’s car was attended to; it’s easy to see why the judges chose it.
