Remember the days of going to the toy store or hobby shop to pick up a new model car or truck to build? Well it seems as though someone or a group of someones decided that they wanted to continue to enjoy that feeling of a new model car, but on a much larger scale. Children built model cars, airplanes, and rockets, but many continue to enjoy the hobby as adults. Small scale models are fun, but imagine a life size model car for grown ups or possibly the children of giants? Well as it turns out, there is a life size model of a 1940 Ford hotrod.
The masterminds behind this project based their model around the 1:25 scale 1960’s AMT “3-in-1” kit. The devil is in the details and this kit features all of the model goodies, including glue, paint, instructions, and even an X-ACTO style knife. Just keep this away from those wacky folks who stomp model cars with high heels.
The creative geniuses behind this project even managed to create a replica of the model box. Although there is no information about the material used to create the packaging, it is pretty safe to guess that it requires a forklift to move it around. These artists behind this project took the time to create the twist off parts for the Ford.
Overall, this life size scale model is pretty amazing, but can you imagine what the government might say if model rocket enthusiasts took the same initiative? The FAA would have more to worry about than just drones operators at the local beaches.
