For the past several years, the National Corvette Restorers Society and Carlisle Events have both hosted events at the Sun n’ Fun facilities in Lakeland, Florida. This year, the two powerhouses have combined efforts to make this year’s Carlisle Winter AutoFest a haven of all things Corvette.
The NCRS will be hosting their Winter Regional meet on-site and the folks at Carlisle Events, known for their Corvettes At Carlisle events, have utilized their expansive network of Corvette-specific vendors and show-field expertise to their Annual Winter AutoFest. The event will run from February 22-24, 2019, and while all cars are welcomed, there will be special VIP and Corvette-only parking areas and swap meets for those Corvette faithful.
Known for well-rounded events that cater to a broad spectrum of enthusiasts, this year’s AutoFest is designed to bring value to Corvette enthusiasts of every generation. The NCRS will be on-hand with their annual Winter Regional, and the Solid-Axle Corvette Club and National Council of Corvette Clubs will also be on-hand, sharing their passion with attendees and members.
Stingray Chevrolet will be on-site, showcasing new Corvettes and Corvette guru Paul Koerner will be hosting seminars to diagnose any issues for Corvette and all-Chevrolet owners. Koerner, based out of Jackson Chevrolet in Connecticut, is a GM-certified master technician with an emphasis on Corvette ailments. Throughout the weekend, he’ll be front and center with Corvette owners and their cars.
Also, Carlisle Auctions will run at least one all-Corvette themed hour as part of their two-day auction, giving those who want to buy their first, or next Corvette, a dedicated time slot to do so. There will also be a MiG 17 Russian Fighter Jet positioned near the Corvettes for photo opportunities. The photo ops are FREE, but guests are encouraged to bring their own cameras and snap their own pics.
While the month of February is notoriously cold in the northern regions of the nation, it is a hot-spot for enthusiasts of all makes and models around Central Florida. It also makes a great respite from the frigid temps and white-fluffy stuff engulfing the vast, frozen areas of the nation. Check out the Carlisle Events webpage for more information and to register to attend this year’s event.
