Summit Racing Introduces Handcrafted Pilkington Classic Windshields

New from Summit Racing – the Pilkington Classics windshields are now available. These handcrafted windshields cover American and import vehicles from the 1950s through 2002. See more details below.

Official Release:

Taking a 1971 Cutlass or 1939 Chevy half-ton from scrapyard to showcase status isn’t a project for the uncommitted. That’s why Summit Racing has made your hunt for the perfect windshield the easiest part of the restoration process by offering Pilkington Classics windshields for popular American and import vehicles from the 1950s through 2002.

The pros at Pilkington have been around since before classic cars were classics. With over 50 years in the industry, it’s redefined windshield making into a fine-tuned art form.

All Pilkington classic car glass is handcrafted from beginning to end. The glass is cut to size, edges are smoothed, the glass is washed and dried, and then the two sheets are stacked in a furnace and bent to the exact shape needed. When the glass cools, the layers are separated and an interlayer is added. Air is removed and the glass sheets are placed in an autoclave with applied pressure and heat for several hours before a final inspection sends them out the door. Using original tooling, Pilkington can even imprint the original windshield trademark and DOT for a concourse-quality finish.

Choose from the impressive selection of over 1,000 different Pilkington Classics options to find the perfect windshield for your classic, vintage, or exotic restoration.

Features:

  • Handcrafted from beginning to end
  • Ability to imprint the original windshield trademark and DOT for a concourse-quality finish
  • Over 1,000 different Pilkington Classics options
