SEMA 2019: NSRA Giveaway Car For 2020 From Show Me Rod And Customs

NSRA had a mega-successful year in 2019 with record attendance and a big-bash party in Louisville for its 50th anniversary.  They kept the momentum building, by rolling into SEMA this year with a new giveaway car — a custom-built, 1932 Ford roadster. The car will be the Street Rod Nationals, Top Participant Prize for 2020.

Unveiled in Las Vegas on opening day at SEMA 2019, it was a golden delicious little roadster all kitted up in vintage threads. Built by Show Me Rod and Customs, out of Nixa, Missouri, it’s quite the stunner. Not only is Show Me Customs a great builder, but they also offer early Ford fiberglass bodies in five configurations.

According to owner, Tony Curry, “We’ve been building some of the finest-quality reproduction fiberglass bodies since 1989. Quality and value are what make our bodies desired by builders and enthusiasts throughout the country. In addition to body manufacturing, we sell chassis components, and accessories for all your street rod project needs.”

Tony started with a ’32 perimeter frame from Hot Shoe Hot Rods, added Pete and Jakes’s suspension components. Wilwood brakes, and then dropped the company’s ’32 body on top of it all, then sprayed it in a golden, rootbeer hue courtesy of PPG Paint.

Power from a 350ci V8 and a Performance Transmission is delivered to a Winters rearend. All this rolls on Rocket Wheels and meaty Coker Tire gumballs.

Inside, the peanut butter-colored, brocade and leather interior, stitched up by Shane at Sewn Tight Interiors, is a knockout. A CON2R steering wheel, Lokar hardware, and a killer, single gauge by Classic Instruments completes the interior jewelry.

The results are a sweet little roadster, showcasing Show Me Rod And Customs skillful blending of new and old.

In August, NSRA will give this car away at the 51st Anniversary Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. Jim Rowlett, head honcho of NSRA loves the car so much, he said, “I’d like to resign so I can be eligible to win this car.”

Stay tuned to Rod Authority and NSRA for all the latest news about this killer ’32 giveaway car.
