SEMA 2020: 65-70 GM B-Body Full Vehicle Suspension System

There are fewer reasons why anyone would want to row their way around the highway in their vintage ride using dated technology. With companies such as QA1 designing highly-superior chassis components not only designed to make your car handle better but also give you the ability to set that perfect stance, why would you?

If you are ready to transform your 1965-70 Impala into a serious street performance, pro-touring, or drag race machine, you really need to check out QA1’s all-new, 65-70 GM B-Body Full Vehicle Suspension System. The modular system is designed as a full-vehicle suspension upgrade, blending the benefits of adjustable coilover shocks with the unsurpassed stability of great-looking, tubular control arms.

Designed to address many of the shortcomings of the original chassis, the 65-70 GM B-Body Full Vehicle Suspension System is comprised of components that can either be purchased as a complete system upgrade or purchased individually in a “build-as-you-can”, financially-friendly manner.

The system includes everything to upgrade a 1965-1970 B-body’s suspension to modern standards. Parts can be purchased as a kit or individually. With QA1’s coilover shocks at the foundation, ride characteristics and your car’s stance are easily adjustable.

A major benefit of the upgrade comes from QA1’s single- or double-adjustable coilover shocks which allow you to tune your car’s ride for a variety of purposes and driving styles. Ride height is adjustable via the coil-overs and provides up-to 2 ½-inches of drop in the front and 4-inches of drop in the rear, allowing you to dial in the perfect stance.

Other benefits of the system come from the improved geometry found in components such as the QA1 tubular control arms. These super-strong and great-looking components are engineered with key features optimized for either street performance, pro-touring, or drag race vehicles. Polyurethane bushings provide comfort, durability, and low-friction movement for a stable, yet pliable suspension. QA1’s maintenance-free ball joints provide long-lasting strength, and their one-inch longer upper ball joints improve camber gain, resulting in a superior cornering grip. The control arms remove unwanted weight from your car’s suspension, QA1’s typical upper control arms coming in at under seven-pounds, and lowers weighing-in at under 9.75-pounds.

Tubular control arms bring improved chassis geometry, great looks, and lighter weight! Upgraded bushings allow for a more free-flowing chassis while improving stability.

The 65-70 GM B-Body Full Vehicle Suspension System’s sway bars are designed specifically for the B-body chassis to reduce body roll for better vehicle response and improving handling performance while cornering. Front sway bars are available in either 1-3/8-inch or 1-1/4-inch diameter. Additionally, a 1-inch diameter rear bar provides the desired balance with the other components.

To ensure that the rest of the chassis geometry stays where you want it, QA1’s 65-70 GM B-Body Full Vehicle Suspension System is completed with the necessary full-length, adjustable Panhard bar. QA1’s unique, adjustable upper trailing arm mounts provide significant tuning of the vehicle’s anti-squat, resulting in better traction and the QA1 fixed lowers are much stronger and stiffer than OE. Optional adjustable upper trailing arms also allow for the perfect pinion angle adjustment. Sets are available for both three- and four-link cars.

No matter whether you measure your fun by the number of turns, distance traveled, or in quarter-mile increments, QA1’s new 65-70 GM B-Body Full Vehicle Suspension System is designed to make your GM vehicle perform better and look great doing it.
