Cool Off With SPAL’s Sealed, Brushless (SBL) Plus Series Fans

SPAL is a benchmark for excellence when it comes to fans.

It’s no secret that as we get further into the summer months, the temperatures begin to rise. But what some car enthusiasts might not know is how to combat the heat for their classic piece of American muscle. Enter SPAL-USA. SPAL-USA has been producing high performance fans, and centrifugal blowers in the automotive industry for over thirty years. SPAL has even recently been named a “GM Supplier Of The Year,” by General Motors. Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that the fans they produce are of such a quality that GM would use them in vehicles like their C7 Corvette.

SPAL’s facilities are top-notch. This is where they take their products from the design phase to manufacturing using the latest technology in automated assembly, injection molding, and brushless motor production. This is also where they perform all of their on-line testing to ensure they maintain the level of quality that has made them a key player in the automotive industry for over fifty years.

The Brushless DC motors that power SPAL’s Sealed, Brushless 500w Plus Series fans are, “inner rotor,” motors. This is important because, “outer rotor,” motors can be difficult to seal, so for durability’s sake, SPAL made the right call. The windings are stationary and the magnets are in the rotating assembly, as opposed to brushed motors with the stator windings attached to the rotating assembly, while the magnets are stationary. Perhaps that is too much technical jargon, but the important thing to note here is that with the sealed, brushless motor, users can expect to get a more durable, more efficient, and less noisy fan from SPAL.

Furthermore, SPAL has gone a step further and improved upon a great design with the 500W 14-inch and 16-inch drop-in mount fan assemblies they offer. Not only are these fans sealed to IP68 and IP6K9K standards fo their waterproof, dustproof, and waterjet capabilities, but they also possess, “Soft Start,” technology. This means that SPAL has found a way to mitigate electrical in-rush spikes. You know, that drop in voltage you see when your fans kick on, or to put it less plainly, the, “switch-on” surge from the maximum instantaneous current draw you feel when a device is first turned on. They have also included a digital controller for smooth and reliable operation, and built in temperature sensor options for variable speed control. All of this tied into a light-weight and highly efficient package.

The quiet operation of their sealed, brushless (SBL) motors can be attributed to SPAL’s, patented “Sine Wave Technology.” This results in quieter, smoother running motors that reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) felt throughout the vehicle.

The reason this technology works well enough to be used on a platform as famed as the Corvette C7, is that it has been specifically designed for use in applications where airflow performance, low power consumption, automatic speed control, long motor life, and high efficiency are unwavering requirements. From primary engine and cooling needs, to engine bay ventilation, SPAL’s sealed, brushless fans are unrivaled in reliability, durability, and performance under the most demanding conditions.

So, if you’re looking to upgrade your existing engine cooling system, or you’re building a project from the ground up, don’t compromise quality. Take a look at SPAL’s Sealed, Brushless (SBL) Plus Series 500w Motor Fans. There are more companies that produce fans than one would care to count, and then there’s SPAL. A company known for their highly qualified staff, and the even higher quality products.
