There’s an old phrase that goes, “If you live long enough you’ll see everything,” and while we all feel we have plenty of life left to live, the pictures of what’s possibly the world’s most unique orthodontist office will forever rank right up there in our permanent memory banks. The pictures that you see here are of Dr. Dave Meyers Orthodontics office in Conway, AR. Dr. Dave is a huge 50’s/60’s car nut and wanted to combine his love for the era and the cars into a new office space, and while we’ll admit that going to the orthodontist was something we hated doing as kids, this setup could really change our minds.
The building from the outside looks like a 50’s drive-in burger joint, and on the inside it’s a miniature city. Guests are greeted to a reception desk that was created from a rusty $100 47 Merc coupe with a 46 Ford grille.
Dr. Dave went that route as the Merc grille parts were not easily obtainable, where the Ford parts were. The front clip and rear fender were off the actual car while the “woodie” part was cabinetry made to look the part. Dr’ Dave’s personal office looks out onto the main treatment area, and he does so behind a ’59 Cadillac desk. The “shop bay” is where patients are treated to orthodontic work while getting to enjoy the flavor of a vintage Sinclair filling station.
A full link to Dr. Dave’s forum posts about his new shop are available here. We’ll be checking our dental plan later today to see if orthodontic work is covered!
