Our friends at Watson’s StreetWorks have made a reputation by winning the NSRA’s Safety Product Of The Year. Such was the case in 2014 when Watson’s 7-inch LED headlight claimed the top spot in two categories; the NSRA’s Safety Product of the Year and NSRA’s Best New Product of the year Awards.
Prior to Watson’s LED headlights, there was a stigma attached to LED headlights. They were expensive and looked wrong in most hot rods and customs. The R & D team at Watson’s took a 7-inch round glass lens and mated it to an H4 LED assembly.
While this was a major improvement over anything else on the market, the team pushed on in testing because they were not satisfied. For the Watson’s development team, the light beam was too scattered, and they continued to try different components until they found a combination they were happy with.
The award winning LED headlight was praised for the crisp white light pattern and sharp difference between Hi and Lo beams. These drew less amps than than the OE bulbs and still plugged into the stock 3 prong socket which means you don’t have to change your wiring. Best of all, it doesn’t cost a king’s ransom.
What’s New?
Unwilling to rest on their laurels, the Watson’s team made these lights even better. Now the 7-inch LED headlight kits are offered with Hella Vision Plus lenses. These new lenses use an advanced reflector design and conform to SAE/DOT standards for street and highway use. The light pattern on both high and low beams is great without blinding oncoming traffic. We all know how bothersome and dangerous that can be.
It appears that Watson’s StreetWorks continues to improve upon proven products to make them even better and safer than before. Visit them online at: www.watsons-streetworks.com
